My Wedding Speech

I had a fantastic speech all worked out for today? but now I’m married Gina has told me what to say.
On behalf of my wife and I, we'd like to thank you all for coming here today and sharing our special day with us. There are times when it's good to be surrounded by people who are important to you, and for us, this is one of those occasions. We hope that you are enjoying the event every bit as much as we are and we'd like to express our gratitude for your kind wishes, cards, presents and support. Its at this point Gina and I would like to thank a few people who helped us make today so special.
The new Mrs Cudars and I would like to give a thank you to Ms Ananda Fergerson for her photography work as she has made our wedding very easy going and relaxed. We are very grateful to Amy and Michael for their willingness to be Masters of Ceremonies and we all look forward to thier big day next year.
I am absolutely delighted to be able stand here today with Gina, I never knew what was missing in my life before I met her. Gina has been a source of friendship, support and love. Gina you have stood by me through a lot of decisions in our life together. You agreed to make me the happiest man in the world today and have a natural way that makes every day a joy to be with you. Darling, you have also done a tremendous job in organising today’s events and everything about the day so far has been absolutely perfect, and it literally is all down to you. Not to say she was the only one involved in the wedding plans, I think I have done a great job nodding and smiling for the last year and a half. So, a big thanks to me for that.
Tradition dictates that I now tell you an amusing story or two about Gina. But unfortunately she dictates that I do no such thing. What I will say is, that we''ve been together now for over 6 years, and in that time I''ve learned a very valuable lesson:
Whenever I’m Wrong - Admit It!!
Whenever I’m Right - Keep Quiet!!
We would like to thank Ginas Parents, Neville and Louise, not only for your hospitality, but for everything you have done to make today a success.
Personally, I would like to thank you for welcoming me so openly into your family. I feel very proud to be able to say that I am your son-in-law and will always do my best to live up to your expectations and promise to take care of Gina and of course do everything she tells me to!
We also want to say thank you to my parents, Peter and Marie for making today possible, two wonderful weddings in one year. You have both been there for us when we needed you and given me a wonderful start in life and I'm very fortunate and proud to have you as my mum and dad.
I only hope that I will be able to provide my kids with the childhood sarah and I had.
Please be upstanding and join me in raising your glasses in a toast to both Neville and Louise and Peter and Marie, I only pray that our marriage will be as strong as theirs.

When thinking about what to put in my speech I looked at a variety of sources, but I always ended up, back with the Big Man. The true light, My guiding spirit, The one who has a following of millions, Homer Simpson.
When asked what marriage is like he responded
‘Marriage is like being married to your best friend, and he lets you play with his boobs’
Gina, you are my best friend and there is know one I would rather spend the rest of my life with than you.
I can imagine that my sister, Sarah, the worlds prettiest best man, is getting pretty impatient to make her speech. Sarah did a great job in organising the bucks party, and as sisters go, you can’t get much better. Now, many people don't know that Sarah suffers from a rare medical condition which causes her to invent imaginary stories. She really does believe these stories to be true and I thank you for humouring her during her speech.
Now that brings me to the bridesmaid, Lucy, who has travelled all the way from upstairs to be with us today. Seriously, As the big sister Gina has always looked up to you, not only because you are the tallest in the family. You have been a role model to your little sister. Thanks for calming Ginas nerves and helping in her preparation today. And I’m sure everyone will agree that you look absolutely stunning today.
Well, that's about it from me for now, but, before I pass you over to my best “man”, Ladies and Gentlemen, please stand and lift your glasses and join me in a toast to bridesmaid and the best man....to my sisters…. lucy and sarah

I would like to bring my speech to a close by saying a very special poem to my bride:
To my bride, I give you my heart
Sharing love each day, from the very start
To my bride, I give you my kiss
Filling each day with joy and bliss
To my bride, I give you my mind
Learning each day to be more kind
To my bride, I give you my soul
Growing together to be more whole
To my bride, I give you my life
Rejoicing each day that you are my wife.
To my bride, I give you my fears,
So please, protect me from birds when I am in tears.
